The Ministry of Tourism and Culture, in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is organising information seminars on European Union funds for cultural projects on March 8 and 9.
These seminars will be held in the Music Room at St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity, Valletta, between 5.30 and 7.30 p.m. and are intended for officials from NGOs and the private sector that are involved in cultural activities. An afternoon seminar will be organised on March 7 for government officials involved in cultural projects. The seminars will be conducted by Joachem Wernscheid, an acknowledged expert on the subject. The executive director of the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, Dr Paul Mifsud, said: "Our objective in organising these seminars is to inform participants about different opportunities available to cultural organisations to access EU funds. I am certain that all those who attend will find the seminars extremely informative and valuable as Mr Wernscheid is an expert in this field."
The seminars' programme tackles issues about designing an appropriate cultural project, identifying the correct funding source, the methodology of the application process, the project evaluation and adjudication process and the execution of an approved EU funded project.
Maltese specialists who served on EU Projects Adjudication panels will also address these seminars to explain the project adjudication process.
The March 8 seminar is intended for officials of NGOs and that of March 9 for officials from the private sector. All participants should be involved in cultural projects. Those interested in attending these seminars are asked to inform the Cultural Contact Point Office by e-mail: marika.a.grech@gov.mt or to call 2298-1305 by Friday.
