Sense of leadership offer

Labour leader Alfred Sant said a new Labour government would offer a sense of leadership to tackle localised environmental problems through a partnership with Fgura council and local councils and voluntary organisations from surrounding areas.

Dr Sant said it was not acceptable for the area surrounding the primary school in Fgura to be affected by environmental pollution.

Dr Sant, who was speaking at a press conference on the performance of Fgura council with regard to the environment, said the council had not introduced one single tax on a local basis and had implemented 85 per cent of its promises in three years.
