A David vs Goliath act gets underway this evening at the Ta` Qali Pavilion when Joe Galea`s Pembroke, already holders of the Super Cup, MBA Shield and KO this season, take on surprise package Siggiewi HSBC in the Kinnie League best-of-five final series.

No-one expected Siggiewi, coached by Ray Muscat, to go this far at this stage of the season, especially after they were pitted against last year`s champions Luxol in the semi-finals.

However, the team which last figured in the finals way back in 1997 should not be taken that lightly. Siggiewi, who ousted the champions 3-2 in the previous round, reached the finals of both the MBA Shield and the KO competitions, showing great improvement as the campaign progressed.

Siggiewi were unable to beat Pembroke in the six matches played this season. The Reds are hot favourites to land the big prize. They are also buoyed by a formidable track record which includes two championships in the past four years, two KO competitions from the last five contested, two Louis Borg Cups in the past three seasons and three MBA Shields and Super Cups since 1998.

Play-offs schedule: Game One, today 7.45 p.m.; Game Two, Sunday 4.15 p.m.; Game Three, Sunday, April 28 4.15 p.m.; Game Four, Wednesday, May 1 4.15 p.m. and Game Five Sunday, May 5.
