John Anthony Lyttleton, a Briton residing in Malta, was on Tuesday accused of procuring grievous injuries on Teresa Bartolo and Mary Galea, both of Paola.

It was inadvertently reported on Wednesday that he was charged with running them over. He was also accused of driving a car when the traffic lights were red.

The court decreed that Mr Lyttleton should not have been arraigned under arrest.

Police Inspector Malcolm Spiteri prosecuted.
