The seventh round from the ASM Poiatti Motocross Championships will be held on Sunday at the Ta' Qali racetrack. This will be the last round and includes races for 125cc and 250cc Class A and B riders.
The 125cc Class A is dominated by Gozitans Michael Camilleri and John Attard, both on Kawasakis. Arthur Micallef (Suzuki RM) is third in the current standings. The 125cc Class B is mainly for newcomers. This category is led by Daniel Borg (KTM 125cc).
Alex Sant Fournier, on a KTM 520cc, is leading Clint Sciberras in the 250cc Class A. The latter has missed one race due to injury but still managed to retain his runner-up position ahead of 12 other riders.
The 250cc Class B had 22 entries at the beginning of the season. Though slightly slower than Class A, races here were also highly competitive. After six of the seven championship rounds, Kevin Borg (Yamaha 250) is leading with 331 points.
Meanwhile, Darius Goodwin won the Open motocross challenge ahead of Chris Muscat and Clint Sciberras.
Sunday's events will also include a special exhibition by young BMX riders. They will be performing at around 3 p.m. under the charge of John Zammit.
