A total of 20 people have been arrested following drug finds between yesterday and last night.

The police said the Drug Squad yesterday morning searched an apartment in Naxxar where it suspected that an 18-year-old man had ecstasy pills he intended to sell during a party that night.

The police found more than 70 ecstasy pills in his bedroom at his parents' house. An inquiry is being held.

The Mobile Squad arrested two men, aged 30 and 32, from Mgarr and Gzira in the area of the Zammit Clapp Hospital. Heroin and methadone were found in their possession.

Five men and three women were arrested during a party at Ta' Qali after they were found in possession of cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis. They are aged bewteen 17 and 30 and hail from Zurrieq, Marsascala, San Gwann, Zabbar, Qrendi, Kirkop, Valletta and Qormi.

Another seven men aged between 17 and 61 were arrested in Paceville after they were found in possession of cocaine and cannabis. They are from Fgura, San Gwann, Zabbar, Marsascala, St Julian's and Birkirkara.

At another party in Hal Farrug, the police arrested a 22-year-old man from Attard who was found in possession of cocaine.

In Gzira, the police intercepted a car driven by a 22-year-old from Msida who had in his possession packed cocaine ready to be sold.

The people arrested are expected to be arraigned in the coming days. Three will be also charged with trafficking, the police said.
