A man who underwent gender realignment surgery to become a woman yesterday filed an appeal from a Civil Court judgment which found that the authorities' failure to provide for the transsexual's marriage did not violate her human rights.
Nadia (Joseph) Hili filed the appeal after Mr Justice Tonio Mallia refused to declare her a woman for the purposes of the Marriage Act, remarking that it would take much more to convince the court to go against the dictates of natural law and allow marriage between two people who were, at the end of the day, of the same sex.
Dr José Herrera and Dr David Camilleri signed the appeal.
