The privatisation of the shipyard will increase investment and create new jobs, the Nationalist Party said.

The party said in a statement that in spite of the Labour leader’s allegations 15 days ago that the shipyard was to be sold for less than €6 million, just the ship repair part of it was being sold for €67.8 million. Another €12.4 million were offered for the Manoel Island Yacht Yard.

Rather than forking out money to subsidise the shipyards, the country would now be making money and creating more productive jobs, the PN said.
