Siġġiewi's football ground gets a new fence and some repairs

Public Works Department steps in to help maintain sports facility

The Siġġiewi football ground has had a new fence and netting fitted as part of a repair and renovation process carried out by the Public Works Department.

Workers also waterproofed dressing rooms and carried out maintenance works on the ground’s main fate, as well as installed new bollards for access control purposes.

Parliamentary Secretary for Public Works Omar Farrugia said that these interventions form part of the government’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving public facilities within local communities.

“It is important that we continue to invest in infrastructure that is used daily by our communities. Through these interventions, we are ensuring that sports facilities are safer, more resilient, and better suited to the needs of today and tomorrow,” he said.

Siġġiewi FC president Roderick Farrugia described the assistance provided by the Public Works Department as “invaluable, both from a financial perspective and in terms of the improved facilities it delivers for the club.”
