\nThe last session from the Winter League match between Go Mobile Sirens and Sliema Burger King yesterday continued on the same wavelength as that of last Saturday when the team from St Paul's Bay was leading 9-5 with the game being called off after referee Peter Balzan was hit by an object.
With the ASA rules stating that the game had to be continued with the same line-up and officials, the match yesterday followed suit with Sirens again dominating to secure an easy win. This final fourth session was played behind closed doors as decided by the ASA earlier in the week.
Both sides did not look eager to continue the match, especially, Sliema who took the game lightly and seemed their presence at the national pool was just for the sake of honouring the fixture as the Blues threw in the towel from the word 'go'.
This made it easier for Joe Attard's side. For the record, Chris Cauchi and Jonathan Valletta extended Sirens' lead to 11-5 and although Clint Debono pulled one back for Sliema, Karl Montfort sealed the points for Sirens.
With this win, Sirens joined Neptunes at the top of the standings. Both teams will now meet in a decisive match on Saturday, starting at 6 p.m.
These two sides will be having the backing of their supporters after the ASA decided that this weekend's programme will be open for the public.
