Six Maltese nativity cribs at Rome's Basilica di Sant'Andrea della Valle

The display includes 45 cribs from 20 countries

Six Maltese cribs have been flown to Rome to form part of an exhibition made up of 45 nativity setups at the Basilica di Sant'Andrea della Valle.

The exhibition, which will remain open till February 2, includes cribs from 20 countries.

The Maltese cribs were included in the display through coordinated efforts of the Għaqda Ħbieb tal-Presepji Għawdex Malta 1985  and the Ministry for Voluntary Work.

Eight Maltese volunteers helped set up the display of cribs that also hail from Spain, Italy, Austria and Germany.

The association is also participating in an exhibition at the Nativity cribs museum in Greccio, where a crib by Benny Camilleri will form part of a permanent display.
