Six receive Masters degrees in UK

Six students of the European Institute of Education, which is the local representative of the University of Leicester Management Centre, received their Masters degrees at a graduation ceremony held in Leicester.

Jack Mizzi, marketing and wholesale service manager of DataStream Ltd., graduated MSc Marketing with Distinction.

Mr Mizzi was also named the "Best Specialised Masters Student for 2003-2004" in recognition of his placing first among more than 200 international students attending the course.

Jerome Spiteri, manager of the business planning unit at Air Malta plc, graduated Master of Business Administration (Employee Relations).

Ingrid Camenzuli (in absentia), a managerial assistant with the Malta Financial Services Authority, graduated Master of Business Administration.

Catherine Vella, who works at the information unit of the National Statistics Office, David Kelleher, a former editor of The Malta Business Weekly, and Cynthia Busuttil (in absentia), a journalist with The Times, graduated Master of Arts in Mass Communications.

The students where presented with their certificates by Sir Michael Atiyah, Chancellor of the University of Leicester.

Antonello Cappitta, director of courses at the institute, accompanied the students in Leicester.

Degrees awarded by the University of Leicester, such as the Leicester MBA, are recognised by both the University of Malta and the government.

The Leicester MBA is internationally accredited by the Association of MBAs which is the most important accreditation body for universities and business schools running MBA programmes in the UK and worldwide.
