A marathon fair to celebrate Skolasajf was inaugurated by Education Minister Louis Galea yesterday evening.
The fair, which remains open until Sunday, is being held at Maria Regina Junior Lyceum in Blata l-Bajda.
Skolasajf is a programme of educational activities for students from Church, state and independent schools. It was this year available in 53 centres in Malta and 12 in Gozo.
The fair exhibits projects by the children taking part in Skolasajf and university students studying to become teachers who would have worked in the Skolasajf programmes during their holidays.
The marathon fair also includes students with a disability who took part in Skolasajf at special centres.
The government, the minister said, allocated up to Lm150,000 for the Skolasajf programme, which this year was attended by more than 4,000 students aged between seven and 11.
