During the weekends my sons go to pubs and clubs in Paceville, where, they tell me, smoking is permitted all the time and no checks are ever carried out.
One of my sons attended a recent party at the Ice Arena. As there were many people smoking, he came home with a sore throat, his clothes reeking of smoke.
The police are very vigilant where drug abuse is suspected and their efforts are appreciated, but I feel that very little is being done where smoking is concerned.
It's so unfair to have to endure smoking when you don't smoke and know that smoking is so dangerous. You can't just simply stay at home or stand outside a pub or disco for two hours - a law against smoking in public places has been passed, after all!
