I am sorry that I have to ask: Are these the methods by which to govern? Are we heading into another regime?

It would be good to stamp out smoke-belching vehicles, but not by having citizens spy on others. The country has got people paid with taxpayer money to do this job. We have the police and the wardens.

Smoke-belching vehicles are mostly buses and heavy trucks, but how is it is possible not to belch smoke when we allow trucks carrying loads of 60/80 tonnes inside our villages and towns.

Also, some time ago the government created an anomaly in the prices of fuel, with diesel being very much cheaper than petrol. Because of this, a lot of petrol engines were replaced by second-hand diesel engines. For a diesel engine not to belch smoke it has either got to be a new one or its owner has to keep a diesel pump technician in the boot.
