Please, can someone tell me what is going wrong with the postal service in Malta? Delivery of letters and small parcels is getting slower compared to other countries' deliveries.

I posted four small parcels, each one containing a VHS videotape: one to Australia, one to Canada and two to Malta. The time it took for these tapes to be delivered to their intended destination is as follows: Five days to Australia; 12 days to Canada; 16 days to Malta.
