Obituary
CARUANA. On January 2, at St Luke's Hospital, EMMANUEL aged 49, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Rita née Gatt, his sisters Connie and her husband Joe Ebejer, Eileen and her husband Joe Dimech, his mother-in-law Ersilia, his brother Alex and his wife Sandra Caruana, his nephews and nieces, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe, Carmen, Mary, Tony and his wife Dorothy, Paul and his wife Mary, John and his wife Emily, Ludgard and his wife Rosalind, Francis and his wife Georgette, their children, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 4.30 p.m. for the Gozo Cathedral where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 5 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Respite Centre in Gozo would be appreciated.
GALEA. On January 3, FR EGIDIO GALEA OSA, aged 86, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Deeply mourned by the Augustinian family, especially the Paceville community, his sister Therese, his sister-in-law Rita, his nephews and nieces, Sr Marion of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Apparition, Eileen and her husband Louis Gauci, Vincent and his wife Miriam, Josephine, Matilde and her husband Noel Gauci, George and his wife Silvana, his great-nephews and nieces and their families, cousins and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 7.45 a.m. for the Mother of Good Counsel Church in Paceville where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. She leaves to mourn her loss her children, Martha wife of John Scerri, Doris wife of Victor Caruana of British Columbia, Josette wife of John Finn, also of British Columbia, Tanya wife of Stanley Borg Cardona, David and his wife Claire, Anna and Michael, her grandchildren Ivy, Sandra wife of Stephan Gravino, Zena, Christina wife of Stephan Ottewell, Tanya, Nigel and his wife Christine, Susanne, Andrew and his fiancée Elaine, John, Alison wife of Joseph Ellul, Rachel wife of Stefan Busuttil, Matthew and his fiancée Tiziana, Adrian, Andrew, Emma, Anthony, Michael and Simon, her nine great grandchildren, her sisters Amalia Soler, Tessie wife of Tommy Demajo, her sisters-in-law Polly Zammit and Mary Zammit, nephews and nieces other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

LEWIS. On January 3, at Dar tal-Kleru, Birkirkara Fr Francis A. Lewis, aged 85, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sister Annie Polidano, his sister in-law Medalene Lewis, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends, priests residing at Dar tal-Kleru and nuns (tac-Cenaklu). - R.I.P.

MERCIECA. On January 2, at St Luke's Hospital, JOHN, aged 77, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Sr Grace of the Egyptian Sisters, Richard, Rose, Antoinette, Anna, Tommy, Maria and Joseph, and their respective spouses, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his brothers and sister, in-laws, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

SCICLUNA. On January 2, at her residence, MARIA STELLA of Cospicua, aged 79, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church, only four days after the loss of her husband John. She leaves to mourn her children Harry and his wife Mary, Connie and her husband Harry Harvey, Tony and his wife Rita, Mario and his wife Carmen, and Margaret and her husband Mario Bonnici, her 15 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, her sister Tessie McNeil, her brothers Emanuel and Joseph Dakin, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

AGIUS - HUGO. In loving memory of our dear Hugo, today the first anniversary of his demise. AGIUS - SALVU. Cherished memories of a beloved husband, father and grandfather, today the 16th anniversary of his death. As in previous years, the Faculty of Education will be offering a number of M Ed specialisations which include Philosophy of Education, ICT in Education (three places); Adult Education (eight places) and Science Education (12 places), the University of Malta said yesterday.

Applications forms for admission to Church schools in Malta this year will be available from the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana, as follows: January 10 for kindergarten - children born in 2002; January 11 for pregrade - children born in 2001; January 12 for year one - children born in 2000.
Applications will be available from 9 a.m. to noon and from 3 to 5 p.m.
