Obituary
BRIFFA. On November 6, at St Vincent de Paul Residence, CARMELA née Magri, widow of Francis, of Paola, aged 82, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Andrew, ex-Medigrain, and his wife Joyce, Paul and his wife Lourdes, Victor and his partner Sharon, Joseph, n/a Mr Hoss, and his wife Madleine, her daughter Bernardette, Volunteer Services Manager at the Malta Hospice Movement, nephews and nieces, in-laws, relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10 for Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 2.45 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to the Malta Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the clergy, medical and paramedical staff at St Francis female ward seven and eight.
MERCIECA. On November 6, at his residence in Sliema, Paul J., aged 89, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his most beloved wife Mariella, his brother Michael and his wife Mary, his nephew Arthur and his wife, his nieces Vivienne, Virginia and their husbands, his in-laws Aldo, Marguerite, Sr Consuelo, Caroline, Lewis, Miriam and their husbnds and wives, nephews and nieces-in-law, relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said today at 9.30 a.m. at Sacro Cour parish church, Sliema, followed by interment in the family chapel at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Domus Mariae, Marsaxlokk, will be appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest.

GRECH - JOE LOUIS. Treasured and unfading memories of a most beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather who left us five years ago. Today's 11 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta, St Julian's, will be offered for the repose of his soul. Deeply missed and lovingly remembered. The Fish market at Barriera Wharf, Valletta, will be closed every Monday from January 3 to April 11. The market will also be closed on December 8, 13, 25, 26, 31, January 1 and 2.
Gay Catholic Group
The Gay Catholic Group will be holding a meeting at the Millennium Chapel, Paceville on November 18 at 7.30 p.m.
The group's aims are to support gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning individuals in their bid to integrate their sexual identity and their Catholic beliefs. It is supported by the Malta Gay Rights Movement and meets twice a month.
The movement in turn provides support through its National Gay Helpline - 2143 0006 open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, between 6 - 9 p.m.
