Mr FRANK BEECHINOR-COLLINS and Miss MELANIE SCICLUNA
France and Donna Scicluna of Portomaso, St Julian's, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter MELANIE to FRANK, son of James and Alice Beechinor-Collins of Currabinny, Ireland. An engagement party is being held in England today. The couple plan to marry next summer.

Major RENATO SCUDICIO and Miss CLAIRE ABELA, Dip. Soc. Stud. (Ind. Rel.)
The marriage took place on August 22 at Tal-Mirakli chapel, Lija, between RENATO, son of the late Pietro Scudicio and Elvira Scudicio Barone of Udine, Italy, and CLAIRE, daughter of John and Gemma Abela of Qormi. Fr Jesmond Manicaro administered the marriage rites. Mr André Abela and Mr Paolo Scudicio witnessed the ceremony. A dinner was later held at the Westin Dragonara Resort.

Obituary

BORG CARUANA. On August 17, in Canberra, Australia, ELIAS (ex-Acting High Commissioner in Australia), passed peacefully away, aged 74. Loving and devoted husband of Mary née Camilleri, loved father of Christopher, Bernard, Angela, Charlotte and John. Proud grandfather of Alex and Jason, Carla, Jerome and Ryan, Luke, Kevin and Erin (dec), Ian, Matthew and Julia. Deeply mourned by his family, relatives and friends in Australia and Malta. May he rest in peace.

PORTANIER. On August 27, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, JOHN, aged 62, after a short illness borne with Christian fortitude. He leaves to mourn his loss Rose née Cassar and his son Jean, his sister and her husband Madeleine and Charles Cowlrich, nephew and niece, Eleana and Christopher, cousins, other relatives, in-laws and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for St Venera new parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to the Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated.

SCHEMBRI. On August 28, SHEILA, née Pisani, of Sliema, residing in Kappara, after a short illness bravely borne, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband George, her loving children Iona and Joe, Ashley and Gordon, and Hamish and Francesca, her grandchildren Liam and Chad, her sisters Marlene, and Daria and her husband John, and her brother Edwin, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Capua Hospital tomorrow at 8.15 a.m. for St Julian's parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.
