Obituary

AZZOPARDI. On May 18, JOE of L-Iklin, aged 52, passed peacefully away. He provided a lifetime of joy and love to his wife Anna née Tonna, and his son Luca Iosif. Fondly remembered and cherished by his mother Maria Dolores, his brother and sisters, his mother-in-law, Satornina, his brothers and sisters-in-law and their families, other relatives and numerous friends.- R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital, today at 1.45 p.m. for St Mary's church Birkirkara (Knisja l-Qadima) where Mass will be said at 2.30 p.m. to celebrate his life. Interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza Siggiewi, will be appreciated. NELSON. On May 19, MONICA (Mona) née de Piro d'Amico, widow of Colonel J.E.T. Nelson, at the venerable age of 94, blessed by the rites of Holy Mother Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister-in-law Phyllis, her nephews Edward, Nicholas and Gino, her nieces Emily, Nathalie, Dorothy, Marlene, Madeleine, Mary, Elizabeth and Margaret, and a number of great and great-grand-nephews and nieces as well as two first cousins. - R.I.P. Mass praesente cadavere will be said today at 10 a.m. at St Dominic's church, Rabat. No flowers by request. Donations to the Missionary Society of St Paul, Rabat, will be appreciated.

PACE. On May 19, at Zammit Clapp Hospital, ROSARIA aged 79, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughters Christine and her husband Alfred Grech, Mary, Josephine and her husband Raymond Portelli, her grandchildren and great-grandchild, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. VELLA. On May 19, at Casa Leone, St Julians, CARMELO (ex-chief marshal, Superior Courts), of Sliema, widower of Josephine, aged 92, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Josephine and her husband Edwin Zammit, Tessie and her husband David Hopson, Miriam and her husband Alfred Axiak, his sister Louisa Borda, his six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Leone today at 2 p.m. for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Study Morning For Nurses

A study morning for nurses, focusing on Health Promotion - the Health Professional's Role, is being organised by Zammit Clapp Hospital. This will be held at the Catholic Institute, Floriana, on June 2, between 8.20 a.m. and 1 p.m. Repeat sessions shall be held on June 3 and 9. For further information and application forms, contact Raymond Grixti on 2134 4950 by not later than Monday.

Anniversary Exhibition

The National Council of Women, in collaboration with Heritage Malta and the Malta Council for Culture and Arts, will be holding an art exhibition entitled The Hidden Potential in September to mark its 40th anniversary.

The exhibition aims to give a chance to artists who have not held a solo exhibition to display and sell their work. A donation to the NCW sold works of art would be appreciated.

Paintings must not be larger than 60cm x 90cm while sculptures must not be higher than 40cm and larger than 30cm x 30cm.

Anyone interested is urged to send photos of a maximum of three works of art at the NCW Centre, Mountbatten Street, Blata l-Bajda, HMR 02, or on e-mail to ncwmalta@camline.net.

A selection committee, whose judgment will be final, will choose the best work among all submissions and not more than one painting per artist will be chosen.

The closing date for the submission of photographs is June 30.

Lost Passport

Yufan Sun, a Chinese man living in Malta, lost his passport on a bus in Msida last Monday.

Mr Yufan was born on July 18, 1975 and his passport was issued in Jiang Su, China.

He is appealing to anyone who finds his passport to hand it over to the Msida police station, the Chinese embassy in Lapsi Street, St Julians, or to post it to his address: Flat 6, Big Ben Tower, Tower Street, Msida.

Young People's Memorandum

The National Youth Council (KNZ) is inviting all the candidates for the European Parliament elections for the launch and presentation of the Young People's Memorandum for the elections. This will take place on Saturday. Interested parties are asked to contact KNZ on info@knz.org.mt.
