In Memoriam

AGIUS FERRANTE - MARY. In sweetest and loving memory of my dearest wife on the first anniversary of her death. Her adorable husband, Bertie. A grand lady sadly missed. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
I seem to give her back
To Thee, O Lord,
Who gavest her to me.
Yet as Thou did not
Lose her in giving,
So I do not lose her by her return.
What Thou givest
Thou takest not away,
For what is Thine is mine also if I am Thine.
Life me up, strong Son of God,
That I may see further;
Cleanse my eyes that I
May see clearly;
Draw me closer to Thyself,
That I may know myself
To be nearer to our loved one
Who is with Thee.
