Obituary

BARTOLO. On February 21, at St Luke's Hospital, Joseph, aged 60, of Msida, former Police Sergeant No 3, Security Branch, councillor and former deputy mayor of Msida council and president PN club Msida, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, surrounded by his family. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Margaret née Filletti, his dearest daughter Johanna and her fiancé James Rouse, his brothers Dr Frank Bartolo and his wife Henriette, and Charles and his wife Emy of Australia, his twin sister Mary and her husband Michael Seychell, his mother-in-law Mary Massaro, his sisters-in-law Mary Louise and her husband Tony Vella, and Anna and her husband Keith Affhauser, nephews and nieces, numerous friends and colleagues, among them Guza Ellul, Dr Carmelo Grima and his wife Margaret, Alfred Farrugia and his wife Isabelle, and the directors and collegues of St James Capua Hospital and all the staff at M5 St Luke's Hospital. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 2 p.m. for Msida parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Eden Foundation will be appreciated. May God grant him eternal rest.

CARUANA. On February 22, at St Luke's Hospital, CATHERINE, widow of Joseph, aged 84, of Zejtun, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children George and his wife Eileen, Twanny and his wife Molly, Doris and her husband Joe Attard, Georgina and her husband Mario Fsadni, Mary and her husband Leonard Attard, Michael and his wife Frances, her nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital, today at 3 p.m. for St Catherine parish church, Zejtun, where Mass praesente cadavere, will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at St Gregory Cemetery, Zejtun.

GALEA. On February 22, at St Luke's Hospital, MOSES, aged 77, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Agnes, his children Saviour, Paul and his wife Josephine, Cynthia and her husband Emmanuel Grech, his brothers and sisters, his grandchildren, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 2.30 p.m. for Mosta parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment at the family grave at the Mosta Cemetery.

MAGRI OVEREND. On February 21, at St Luke's Hospital, LILIAN, neé Vella, aged 63, wife of the late Reginald, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her loss her most precious daughter Nicola, her sons Andrew and his wife Caroline, Julian, Jonathan and his wife Ingrid, her sisters Louise, wife of Peter Tortell, Mary, wife of Anthony Gregory, Victoria, wife of Richard Escott, and her brother Leonard and his wife Carmen, her five beloved grandchildren Michael, Amanda, Jamie, Lisa and Adam, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. Mass praesente cadavere will be said tomorrow at the Jesus of Nazareth Parish Church, Sliema at 9 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to charitable institutions will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

Televoting Competition

A total of 45,000 votes by the public participated in a competition linked to the Song for Europe festival.

Five winners were drawn by this year's winning duo Julie and Ludwig, on Friday during an event organised by Maltasong.

The winning numbers are: 7905 7103 - Peugeot 206 Xline, 5-door; 9983 8117 - Hamilton Mediterranean cruise; 2164 0650 - Miluna jewellery to the value of Lm250; 9985 4154 - a Ray Ashley voucher of Lm100 and 7955 7535 - a Go Mobile Lm50 voucher.

The telephone companies chose random numbers from those who participated - five from Go Mobile; five from Vodafone and 10 from Maltacom - and the winning numbers were drawn from among these.

Skiing Holiday

Twelve BOV Club members will be spending their Easter holidays skiing in Livigno, Italy.

University students Michelle Meli, Martina Muscat and Thomas Galea each won the holiday package in a BOV Club competition launched during Freshers' Week. They will each take three friends with them to Italy with the compliments of BOV Club, YTC and Air Malta.

The competition was open to all BOV Club members attending a post-secondary institution or university with a regular stipend directly credited into a Bank of Valletta account.

Another 427 BOV Club members won various gifts.

Stroke Support Group

The next meeting of the Stroke Support Group is to be held at Zammit Clapp Hospital on Wednesday at 5 p.m. Members and friends may attend.
