ABELA. On January 16, at St Luke's Hospital, Jimmy (ex-Superintendent of Police), aged 67. BUGEJA. On January 18, at St Luke's Hospital, SAMUEL (sculptor and art restorer), of Sliema, formerly of Rabat, aged 83, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Plants Propagation
The Indoor Plant Circle is meeting at the senior citizens' centre, in St Publius Street, Floriana, today at 6 p.m. Peter Caruana will give a talk on the propagation of plants and fruit trees.
Horn Recital
An unusual recital featuring the horn as the leading instrument will be held at the Sala Isouard of the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta, on Friday at 7.30pm.
Works by Franz and Richard Strauss, Eugene Bozza, Francis Poulenc, Paul Dukas and Charles Camilleri will be performed by Etienne Cutajar (horn) and Caroline Calleja (piano), who will be joined by Rosabelle Bianchi (soprano) in one of the pieces.
The two musicians will encompass the best music written for horn and piano in the last 150 years.

Drama Courses
The dramatic company Teatru Rjal has made a call for applications for drama courses.
There will be a basic course for those with no stage experience and a course for those who attended the first year and who took part in the Christmas pantomime at the Catholic Institute.
The aim of the courses is to prepare budding actors and actresses for productions put up by the company.
The courses consist of 24 weekly sessions and start in February. The price is Lm40 for each course and only participants aged over seven are eligible.

Following an assessment visit by a representative of Marketing Quality Assurance Ltd of the UK, the Hotel Milano Due, in Gzira has retained for a further year its status of Hospitality Assured Standard for Service and Business Excellence.
Accessibility Seminar
Heritage Malta is holding a one-day seminar on providing accessibility for persons with disability to museums and archaeological sites.
The aim of the seminar is that of raising awareness among architects, engineers, designers, museum and site managers, students, local non-governmental and voluntary organisations, as well as the local authorities including local councils and health authorities.
The seminar, at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta on January 28, is being organised in collaboration with the National Commission Persons with Disability and is supported by the European Commission Delegation in Malta.
Competition Winners
Kathleen Bonnici, a student at Maria Regina Girls' Junior Lyceum of Blata l-Bajda, has won the Secondary Poem section (English) in a contest launched by the Department of Student Services and International Relations within the Education Division in the last edition of the Animal Magic Newsletter.
Animal Magic is one of the initiatives of the Animal Awareness Education Programme.
A total of 365 entries was received from both state and non-state primary and secondary schools.
Penelope Vassallo of Mater Boni Consilii School, Paola, won the Maltese Primary poem section; Michela Scalpello of St Catherine High School, Pembroke, won the Maltese Secondary poem section and Ms Dimech's Year 2 class at Dun Xand Cortis, Sta Venera Primary 'A' won the English Primary poem section.
Awards were given to schools for best overall participation in the Animal Awareness Programme in 2003. The winners in this section were: First - Achille Ferris Primary School, Msida; St Edward's College, Cottonera and Agius de Soldanis Girls' secondary/Junior Lyceum of Victoria.
