Obituary

GRECH. On December 3, at St Luke's Hospital, ROSARIO of Marsaxlokk, residing at Zejtun, aged 82, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary née Vella, his children Frans and his wife Josette, Joe and his wife Antoinette, Charles and his wife Therese, MaryGrace and her husband Joe, Maryrose and her husband Tonio, Catherine and her husband Stefan, his sisters Salvina Grech and Gioconda Paris, his in-laws Joseph, Katy and Anthony and their families, grandchildren, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for St Catherine's parish church, Zejtun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar Nazaret, Zejtun, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

GRECH SANT. On December 4, at her daughter's residence, BEATRIX, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, to join her beloved husband Alexander. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her only daughter Dorothy and her husband Ing. Anthony Ventura, her precious grand-daughter Claire and her husband Edward Pace Balzan, as well as her adorable great-grandson Thomas Alexander. Also mourning her loss are her nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral Mass is to be held today at 2.30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation parish church, Balzan, followed by interment in the family vault at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

HARGREAVES - PETER (popularly known as Jay), passed away tragically on November 29, aged 25, as a result of a traffic accident in England. He leaves to mourn his untimely loss his wife Mel, his parents, brother and sister, business associates, staff at Deluxe Clubs, and all his friends. The funeral takes place on December 10 at Hastings, Sussex, UK.

DENARO - Dr RONNIE DENARO, MD. Unforgettable, special memories of a loving husband and father on his 25th anniversary. Sadly missed by his wife May, children Victor and Liz, Christiane and Ian and Helena and Andrew.

FARRUGIA. Treasured memories of our dearest JOHN, a beloved father and grandfather, on the fourth anniversary of his death. So deeply missed by his daughter Franca and her husband Charles, and his grand-daughters Taryn and Sarah. O Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VAT Talks

The VAT Department will be holding a series of information sessions between Tuesday and Friday on new VAT procedures which will become operative as from May 1, 2004 following the amendments to the VAT Act 1998.

The talks will take place on the following days at the Boffa Hall, Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta and will be conducted by officials of the VAT Department from 2 to 4 p.m.: for importers/ exporters on Tuesday; for retailers on Wednesday and Thursday and for service providers on Friday.

Beyblade Competition

A Beyblade competition will be held by the Gozo branch of the Malta Red Cross Society at the Gozo Sports Complex, in Victoria on Sunday, starting at 10 a.m.

Money raised will go towards the Red Cross. Further information may be obtained from the secretary on 9980 0886.

The electricity service in some areas of San Pawl tat-Targa was interrupted yesterday morning because of a fault in the Wied Il-Ghasel electricity substation limits of Naxxar.

Bird Show

The Gozo Bird Breeders Society will be holding its annual show at the Munxar parish centre tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
