Appreciation: John D. Nunns
Fr Francis X. Schembri of Birzebbuga writes:
On September 28 John Nunns started the last lap of his journey towards eternity. It is such a joy when the praise we sing to the dead is grounded
I firmly believe that the best tribute to one's friends is to share their enthusiasms also when they are no longer with us. Caring and sharing endure forever.
John will be long remembered as a real gentleman, enthusiastic, kind, good-humoured, very thorough and persevering in the best use of his talents. He was very accessible, friendly and so respectful, with an unfailing smile.
Endowed with an innate modesty of manner, he was always at ease with people of different beliefs, ideologies and of all temperaments. What a blessing to be always gentle with firiend and critic.
His presence has always graced the lives of so many, myself included. All those who knew him were aware that fulfilment were high on his agenda. For him faith was more an act of praying heart than of the thinking head.
His 20 years as president of the Malta Photographic Society helped him to come in contact with so many people, local and foreigners. They will remember him not only for his innovative ideas and his vivid imagination but also for his inspiring refinement and words of encouragement.
Photography strengthened his conviction that in life every negative has to be tumed into a positive. No doubt his foresight was of immense help to him. Indeed those who knew him best loved him best. They will miss him most.
Our prayers go with you, John. We surely covet yours. May you rest in peace and rise in glory.
