Obituary
NUNNS. On September 28, at Villa Messina, Rabat, JOHN DAVID, widower of his beloved Mary née Caruana, at the age of 76. Deeply mourned by his children Lorraine and her husband John Camilleri, and David, his grandsons Steven and Peter, his sisters Doris and her husband Winston V. Zahra, Iris, widow of Roy Lofaro and Josie, widow of his brother Eric, both residing in Australia, his sister-in-law Doris Pisani, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves Villa Messina today at 1.45 p.m. for St Peter's parish church, Birzebbuga, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by private interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar il-Kaptan, Mtarfa, will be very much appreciated. Grateful thanks to the dedicated staff at Villa Messina.

Cactus And Succulent Society
The Cactus and Succulent Society of Malta will be holding its monthly meeting at the premises of Din l-Art Helwa at 133, Melita Street, Valletta on Sunday at 9.45 a.m.
Office Of The Ombudsman
The Office of the Ombudsman in St Paul Street, Valletta, will be open from today, until the end of May, Mondays to Fridays from 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Battle re-enactment
The Historical Re-enactment Group of Malta is marking the 205th anniversary of the battle between the French and the Maltese at Manoel Island on Sunday.
From 11 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. there will be musical performances, drill sessions and static displays of vehicles and weapons.
Around 150 people will be involved in the re-enactment of the battle at 3.30 p.m., acting out the parts of infantry and cavalrymen from the Maltese, British and French sides.
Entrance is Lm1 for adults and children under 16 enter free.
Live Firing
There will be live firing practice by the Armed Forces of Malta at the Pembroke range Mondays to Fridays in October, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Red flags are flown from the limit of the range concerned. Seacraft are to keep two miles from the coast during these times.
Customs Office
Yachts entering or leaving Maltese waters will have to use the Customs office in Ta' Xbiex or at Gun Wharf in Grand Harbour as from today, as the office at Mgarr is now closed for winter.
The Ta' Xbiex office is open between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., while the Gun Wharf office is open round the clock.
Dog Found
A small, grey poodle-type dog, wearing a green collar, has been found. The dog is very friendly and house-trained and appears to have either been lost or abandoned at Salina. Its owner may contact the finders on 9980-7401.
