The marriage took place on September 27, at San Pawl tat-Targa chapel, between EDWARD, son of Mr and Mrs Edwin Mifsud of Sliema, and BARBARA, daughter of Mr and Mrs Kurt Kempkens of Oberhausen, Germany. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Fr Stefan Attard. Mr Peter Gingell carried out the duties of best man. The bride was attended by Ms Kate Decesare. Mr Clive Falzon and Ms Beate Dzierzon witnessed the ceremony. Ms Emma Spiteri was flower-girl and Master Philip Degle was pageboy. A dinner was later held at the Reef Club Pavilion, the Westin Dragonara Resort, St Julian's.

Mr ACHILLE YANKAM NGONGANG and Miss JOSIAN MICELI
The marriage took place on September 20, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta, St Julian's, between ACHILLE, son of Mr and Mrs C. Yankam Ngongang of Cameroon, and JOSIAN, daughter of Comm. and Mrs V.E. Miceli of St Julian's. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Fr Stefan Attard, Fr Guido Micallef and Fr Etienne Caruana. Ms Mariella Pace Asciak and Ms Anna Zerafa, the bride's sisters, were witnesses for the bride, while Mrs Marthese Mihajlovic and Mr Jules Ngangue were the groom's witnesses. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Roger Walker. The bride was attended by her nieces, Miss Analise Pace Asciak, Miss Luana Zerafa and Miss Sarah Zerafa. Ms Marilyn Zammit was matron of honour. Mr Fabian Pace Asciak, BA (Gen) PGCE, Mr Henri Miceli, Mr Jonathan Sammut and Dr Stefano Filletti, BA, LL.D., LL.M. (INLI), M.Jur. (Oxon), Hon. Consul of Ecuador, were ushers. Maestro Brian Cefai conducted the music in church. The bride looked beautiful in her designer dress and carried a bouquet of white roses. The reception was held at Villa Arrigo, San Pawl tat-Targa.

Obituary

BRIDGETT. On September 28, at St Luke's Hospital, JANE MAY, née Vassallo, widow of William John, aged 81, of Pietà, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Marie Louise and her husband Charles Camilleri, Thelma, widow of Gerald Metcalf, Ythamar and her husband Charles Brincat, Raymond, her grandchildren Stefan, Sharon, Denise, Keith, Karl, Andrew, Caroline, Giselle, Ythamar, Corinne and Glenda and their spouses and fiancés, her brothers Josie and Charles, her sisters Rose and Lina, her sister-in-law Sr Mary Bridgett, FMM, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Msida parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be greatly appreciated.

VELLA. On September 27, at St Luke's Hospital, JOSEPH (of King of Pizza, Bugibba), aged 75, of Hamrun, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary, his ten children Tony and his wife Pauline, Marie and her husband George Bugeja, Rosette and her husband Peter Bartolo, Anna and her husband Paul Farrugia, Martin and his wife Sylvana, Susan and her husband Joe Tonna, Lorraine and her husband George Mallia, Joseph and his wife Anna, Jacqueline and her husband Charles Mallia and Rosarita and her husband Jesmond Agius, his 24 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his brothers in Canada, in-laws, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
