Obituary

CACHIA. On September 11, Fr PATRICK CACHIA, OP, aged 79, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss the Maltese Dominican Province, his sisters Ariadne and her husband John Axisa, Arthemis, widow of Michael De Maria, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves Jesus of Nazareth priory, today at 8.45 a.m. for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

NAUDI. On September 12, at St Vincent de Paul Residence, MARIA, née Inglott, aged 85, passed peacefully away to join the Risen Lord. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Henry and his wife Marios of Canada, Tony and his wife Grace, Thaddy and his wife Adele and Joe and his wife Carmen, her 12 grandchildren, her sister-in-law Mary Inglott, other relatives and friends, especially her fellow NeoCatechumens. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence on Monday at 8.15 a.m. for St Cajetan parish church, Hamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated.

Masses for the repose of his soul will be said today at 7.30 a.m. at St Theresa Sanctuary and at 7.15 p.m. at St Paul's church, Birkirkara.

GILI. In loving memory of MARIA on the 12th anniversary of her demise. Fondly remembered by her children, in-laws and grandchildren.

Photography Course

The Malta Photographic Society is organising a course in basic photography, consisting of 10 lectures and a practical assignment. It will be held at the club premises at 137, Old Bakery Street, Valletta on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m., as from October 15.

Malta Red Cross - swimming event

The Malta Red Cross Society is holding a swimming event between Mgarr (Gozo) and Armier Bay on Sunday, starting at 8 a.m., and finishing around 2.30 p.m.

The Malta Maritime Authority urged seacraft to navigate with caution.

Prayer Meeting

A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and for priestly and religious vocations will be held at the parish church of St Catherine, Zejtun, tomorrow at 9.45 p.m.

Lotto Draw

The lotto draw due on September 21 will take place the day before because of Independence Day, the Lotto Department said.

The working hours of lotto offices normally applicable to Saturdays will apply on September 20.

Mdina Rehabilitation Committee

Denis de Lucca has been reconfirmed by the Resources and Environment Ministry as chairman of the Mdina Rehabilitation Committee for the 2002/2003 period.

Ray Bondin is committee secretary and executive coordinator, and the members are Mario Galea Testaferrata, Mdina mayor and council representative, Lino Callus, Prof. Anthony Bonanno, Dr Simon Galea Testaferrata, Richard Cachia Caruana, Francis Tabone and Davinia Camilleri. Vince Cassar, director general for works is an ex officio member.
