CONSIGLIO. On February 9, at St Catherine Home, Attard, MARY née Pace, aged 85, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Costantino and his wife Monica, her daughters Joan and her husband Joseph, Elizabeth and her husband John, her grandchildren Gabriella, Claudine and her husband Christian, Stephanie, Christian and Melanie, her great- granddaughter Julia, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Catherine Home tomorrow at 1.45 p.m. for Fgura parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be greatly appreciated.

GALEA. On February 8, at Casa Leone, GEORGE, aged 86, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his nieces Lina Mangion, Josephine, wife of Joseph Micallef, and their families, Michael, Robert and his fiancée Ingrid, Joanne and her husband Naji, Allison and her husband David, Tamara, Conner and Naim, other relatives and friends.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said tomorrow at 1.45 p.m. at Casa Leone chapel, St Julians. May he rest in peace.

LACKLISON. On February 7, TANIA, née Vella, of Siggiewi, aged 46, suddenly went to meet the Risen Lord and to join her father Joe, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her devoted husband Martin, her beloved mother Jeannie, her sister Monica, her brothers Joeray and Patrick and their spouses, her father-in-law Des, her sister-in-law Julia and her family, nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 10 a.m. for Siggiewi parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 10.30 a.m., followed by interment in the family vault at Siggiewi cemetery. SPITERI. On February 9, at the Gozo General Hospital, THERESA, of Victoria, aged 79, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She is deeply missed by her sister Rose, her cousins Theresa Grech and Rev Fr Manuel Cutajar who is a missionary in Albania, her nephews Mgr Joseph Farrugia, archpriest of St George's Basilica, Saviour, Carmel and George, her nieces Maria and Anna, their families, several relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 4.30 p.m. for St Francis Square, Victoria. From there a cortege will leave at 4.45 p.m. for St George's Basilica, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 5 p.m., followed by interment in the family vault at St Mary's cemetery. Documentary on Floriani

A documentary on the work of Pietro Paolo Floriani will be screened at the Italian Cultural Institute, in Valletta on Monday at 6.30 p.m.

The documentary on Floriani, the military engineer from Macerata (1585-1838) who was commissioned by the Order of St John to work in Malta, is the first in a series of three documentaries financed by various entities of the Marche Region in Italy.

The author director of the documentary, Massimo Angelucci Cominazzini, and the cultural officer of Macerata Province, Donato Caporalini will deliver short speeches prior to the screening of the documentary in DVD format.

Part of the filming for the documentary was shot in April last year in and around the Floriana bastions.

Other documentaries on personalities from the Marche Region being prepared in this series include Annibale Caro, who was also a Knight of Malta, and Giovanni Battista Velluti.

The public is invited to attend.

Classics concert

The Manoel Theatre will be presenting A Night With The Classics, a concert with soprano Marita Bezzina and baritone Joe Lia accompanied on the piano by Lydia Buttigieg, at the Sala Isouard, on February 17 at 7.30 p.m.

Ms Bezzina will be singing Gretchen Am Spinnrade by Schubert, La Wally by Catalani, Voi Lo Sapete O Mamma by Mascagni, Kont Donnok Tajra and Xbieha Ta' Gmiel by Camilleri, Pace Pace Mio Dio by Verdi, Vissi D'Arte by Puccini, and RitornaVincitor by Verdi.

Mr Lia will perform Ombra Mai Fu by Handel, Liederkreis No. 3 - Waldesgesprach and Dichterliebe No. 7- Ich Grolle Nicht by Schumann, Li Kieku Kont by Vella, Thou Art Gone Up On High by Handel, Let Beauty Awake by Vaughan Williams, and Non Siate Ritrosi by Mozart.

The two singers will join each other in the duet by Mozart La Ci Darem La Mano.

St Valentine's feast

The feast of St Valentine, patron of lovers, will be celebrated on Tuesday at the Balzan parish church where the relic of the saint is venerated.

St Valentine is the second patron saint of the village.

Mass at the church at 6.30 p.m. will be followed by an event at the Aurora Hall starting at 7.30 p.m. during which Claudette Pace will entertain the audience.

Engaged couples and couples who are seriously considering marriage are invited. Engaged couples will be given a memento.

Maltese literature talks

The Maltese Language Academy will be holding a series of public meetings on the Maltese language and literature designed to bring the public and Maltese academics together.

The academy's aim is to introduce to the public relevant new material dealing with the Maltese language.

The first meeting will be held at St James Cavalier, in Valletta on February 18 at 9.30 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

AD/HD Meeting

A meeting of the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Support Group will be held today at 33, Cannon Road, Hamrun, at 6.30 p.m. Those attending may bring up any subject for discussion.

The group offers a resource library which can be viewed before every meeting (from 5.30 p.m. onwards). This library is useful for parents, teachers and professionals wishing to expand their knowledge of AD/HD.

Bargain week

Gasan will be holding a Mega Bargain Week between Monday and February 18 offering one-time discounts on all Ford models. The offer applies also to non-Ford models including certain Mazda, Jaguar and Volvo models.

Lottery Winner

A woman from Qormi has won a brand new KIA Picanto after winning the Lachryma Vitis lottery held to mark the 50th anniversary of the winery. Mary Falzon received the keys at the KIA showrooms last week from Lachryma Vitis director Mario Delicata. After her ticket was drawn from among thousands, Mrs Falzon was telephoned and asked a question about Lachryma Vitis, which she answered correctly.
