Obituary
AQUILINA. On November 13, CARMEN née Barbara, ex-Teacher at Zebbug and Lija, aged 63, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her husband Edward, her daughter Astrid and her husband Geoffrey Farrugia, together with their children Mireille and Amy, her son Edward and his wife Cynthia and their newly born son, her in-laws Jessica and her husband Saviour Ebeyer of Australia, Lilian and her husband Ronnie Giordano, Mary and her husband Frank Schembri, besides cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated today at 2.30 p.m. at St Theresa Sanctuary, Birkirkara, followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.
SELBY BENNETT - Commander H. CHIPPS, RN, died peacefully at home in Dorset, England, on November 13. Husband of Dodo née Lees who died on August 26, 1991, and beloved husband of Mairi née Macrae. Father of James and Bruce.

Gender Seminar
The National Council of Women, The Gender Issues Committee of the University of Malta and The Women in Law and Development in Africa will be holding a joint seminar on gender and the digital divide on Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Sir Temi Zammit Hall of the Mediterranean Conference Centre, in Valletta.
The seminar will be chaired by Irene Sciriha, chairman of the Gender Issues Committee.
The speakers include Catherine Hobbs, head of mathematical science at Oxford Brookes University, Nancy Pascall from the European Commission's Information Society and Media DG and Phyllis Farrugia from the National Council of Women. Family and Social Solidarity Minister Dolores Cristina will open the seminar.

Band debut
The new band Pitch99 will play original works when they make their debut at Rookie's in Bugibba on Friday.
With Chris (ex-Nevawhere) on vocals, Kenny (ex-Crosswalk) on guitars, David (ex-Lynch, ex-Crosswalk) on guitars, Cliff (8 Ugly, ex-Corkskrew) on bass and Jason (ex-Martyrium) on drums, the band says it has created a unique style on the edges of alternative rock.

CHOGM stamps
Michael Frendo, Minister of Foreign Affairs, was presented with a number of first day covers of the CHOGM stamp definitive set by David Stellini, chairman of Maltapost plc. The presentation took place on Monday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Valletta.
Youth Of The Year
The Youth of the Year Award 2005 will be presented on December 3 at the conference hall of Hotel Ta' Cenc in Sannat, during a ceremony presided over by President Eddie Fenech Adami.
This year's event, which starts at 7 p.m., is being organised by the OASI Foundation with the cooperation of the Ministry for Gozo, the Ministry for Education, Youth and Employment and the National Youth Council.
The main aim of this social initiative is to publicly recognise and acknowledge youths who dedicate a great part of their free time to voluntary work in the community.
This year's nominees are Renese Camilleri from Zest Youth Group, Gozo, Ruben Camilleri Cauchi from Gharb Youth Centre, Michael Formosa, of St George Parish, Victoria, Raina Gatt of STAND, Qawra, Jean Pierre Gauci, KSU, University of Malta, Maria Giuliana Fenech from Caritas, Maria Vella of Youths@local, Zejtun and Robert Zammit, KSU, University of Malta.
All the nominees will be personally acknowledged and presented with a commemorative trophy.
The Youth of the Year Shield will be presented to one of the nominees who for the coming 12 months will be the representative and ambassador of all youths.

Pharmaceutical Seminar
Pharmaceutical services will be under the spotlight during a seminar on Friday to mark the Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Association's executive committee meeting.
The seminar is being organised by the Malta Chamber of Pharmacists and is called Developing Community Pharmaceutical Services: A Vision For The Future Or Today's Reality? It will be addressed by Commonwealth Foundation chairman President Emeritus Guido de Marco.
The seminar commemorates the 105th anniversary of the chamber and the 35th anniversary of the association.
The seminar's theme is being developed by association vice president Ivan Kotze and association vice president and president of the UK's Royal Pharmaceutical Society Hemant Patel.
Malta chamber president Mary Ann Sant Fournier and Grace Allen-Young from the association will also address the seminar.
Health centre At Evans Lab
The Health Division said yesterday the health centre at Evans Lab, in Merchants Street, Valletta, will be closed on November 24, 25 and 28 because of security measures being taken during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The division said the public should make use of the health centre in Old Mint Street, Valletta, which will be open between 10 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.
Citizens over 55 and those who suffer from chronic diseases who are entitled to an influenza vaccine should go to health centres by not later than November 21.
Harrogate Conference
A delegation made up of Bank of Valletta executives, representatives of the Malta Union of Bank Employees (MUBE) and of the General Workers' Union (GWU) attended the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Annual Conference and Exhibition 2005 held in Harrogate, UK.
The conference provided a good opportunity for networking, reflection and sharing of best practices, the bank said in a statement.
Portes Des Bombes Works
The Malta Transport Authority notifies that due to maintenance works, one arch in Portes des Bombes Floriana (going towards Valletta) will be closed to vehicular traffic today and tomorrow between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
