Obituary

Casolani. On August 19, ROBERT J., aged 82, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughter Angela, wife of Pierre Balzan Demajo, and his son Raymond and his wife Roslyn, his beloved grandchildren Alexia and her husband Fotis Konidaris, Kristina and Sarah, his sister Josephine Gregory, in-laws, relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said today at 9 a.m. at Attard parish church, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord grant him eternal rest.

Ciarlo. On August 19, ANNA née Gatt, aged 77, went to meet the Risen Lord comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Joseph, her children Carmen and her husband John, John and his wife Grace, Josephine and her husband Mark, Catherine and her husband Salvatore, Frank, Tony and his wife Mary, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brothers and sisters and their respective families, other relatives and friends - R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 7.30 a.m. for Ta' Giezu church, Valletta where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Diabetes Association will be greatly appreciated.

CILIA. On August 20, at St Luke's Hospital, JOSEPHINE, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Emmanuel, her children Helen and her husband George, Tania and her husband Colin who reside in the UK, Marcon and her husband Anthony, her grandchildren Miranne, Sarah and Rebecca, her brothers and sisters Doris, Mary, Tessie, George and Toni, their spouses and children, her in-laws Margaret, Nina, Horace, Marianne who resides in Australia and Nina widow of Charles. - R.I.P. The funeral will be held at St Cajetan parish church, Hamrun today at 9 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

COLE. On August 20, May née D'Alessandro, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Henry, her children Kathleen and her husband Albert Griscti Soler, Keith and his wife Maureen, Kenneth and his wife Verica, and Kenward, her grandchildren Albert, Andrew, Elaine and their spouses, her sisters Rose Rutter Giappone and Lina Portelli, her brothers Josie and Maurice D'Alessandro, relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Gregory's parish church, Sliema where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Galea. On August 21, Fr Vincent Galea, OFM, aged 81, passed away to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brethren of the Franciscan Province of Malta, his brother Lino and his wife Marion, his sisters Mary Theuma, Evelyn and sisters-in-law Imelda and Sally, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves the Sliema Franciscan Friary tomorrow at 9.15 a.m. for Sacro Cuor parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be concelebrated at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

GALEA - JOHN LAWRENCE. On the first anniversary of the passing away of a most beloved husband, father and grandfather. Lovingly remembered by his wife, daughters, son, in-laws and grandchildren.

GOVÈ. In loving memory of CATHERINE on the fourth anniversary of her sudden demise. Fondly and lovingly remembered by her husband Saviour and her only son Emanuel, her sisters and their spouses, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MIFSUD - KENNETH, 21.8.'65-22.8.'92. Remembering our dear Kenny who died tragically 13 years ago today. Never forgotten, forever loved. His mother Jean, his brothers Colin and Andrew and his wife Ulrika, nephews and nieces. Please remember him in your prayers.

STRICKLAND - Lord GERALD STRICKLAND, Sixth Count della Catena, today the 65th anniversary of his death. Today's 6 p.m. Mass at the Cathedral, Mdina, will be offered for the repose of his soul.

Gozo Cultural Tour

The Rabat (Malta) local council will hold an educational cultural tour to Gozo on Friday. Departure is from Rabat at 7 a.m.

Places of interest to be visited include Xaghra - Kola Windmill, Ggantija Temples, the Maritime Museum and Scerri's Cave, Gozo Heritage, Old Prisons, the Archaeological and Natural museums, the Folklore Museum in Gharb and Frenc ta' l-Gharb's museum.

The price of Lm15 includes ferry, entry to museums and two meals.

Magazine Proceeds

The Helping Hands Foundation has donated proceeds from the sale of the third issue of its family magazine to Caritas Malta, which offers services to people in need including drug abusers.

The money will go towards Caritas' harm reduction shelter, a residence for homeless people with drug abuse problems.

Power Cuts

There will be power cuts in Mellieha today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Il-Pluviera and Il-Birwina Streets.
