CARUANA. On June 26, at St Philip's Hospital, to Abigail née Gatt and Christopher, God's precious gift of a daughter - EMMA, sister to Lara. Thanks to the maternity staff at the hospital and to the obstetrician.

DELIA. On July 12, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, to Lorraine née Grech and Christian, God's precious gift of a first-born daughter - SOFIA. Thanks to the obstetrician, pediatrician, midwives Anna Calleja, Carmen Scerri and Anna Croucher, the anaesthetist and all the maternity staff at the hospital.

Marriages

Mr STEPHEN BORG MILLO and Miss ANGELA CASSAR, M.Sc. Finance (Strathclyde)
The marriage took place on June 4, between STEPHEN, son of Dr and Mrs Joseph Borg of Attard, and ANGELA, daughter of Mr and Mrs Alfred Cassar of Attard. Nuptial Mass was celebrated at St Mary's parish church, Attard, by Fr Anton Portelli. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr Roberto Ragonesi and Miss Marilena Pisani. The bride was attended by Miss Tanya Mizzi and Miss Lara Aquilina, while Ms Katrina Cassar acted as flower-girl and Master Jason Borg Millo as pageboy. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Karl Chetcuti. A reception was later held at the Corinthia Palace Hotel, Pool Gardens, Attard, after which the couple spent their honeymoon in Ireland.

Mr MARK ANTHONY CAMILLERI, Dip. Mgt (Maastricht), Dip. Airline Studies IATA, and Ms ADRIANA DEGIORGIO, B.Ed. (Hons)
The marriage took place on July 15, between MARK, son of Mr Teddy Camilleri, MBA (Brunel), DMS, Dip.Ed. (London), FHCIMA, and Mrs Camilleri of Sliema, and ADRIANA, daughter of Mr and Mrs Alfred Degiorgio of Qawra. Nuptial Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of the Grotto church, Rabat, by Fr Joseph Sciberras, assisted by Fr Jose Debono. Mrs Christine Williams and Mrs Doreen Gauci witnessed the ceremony, while Dr Alexei Dingli, B.Sc., IT, Ph.D. (Sheffield) and Capt. Andrew Muscat acted as ushers. Mr Georges Meekers, B.Com. (Hons) MA (Int. Aff.) carried out the duties of best man. Ms Anna Maria Degiorgio, the bride's sister, was maid of honour, Master Jake Camilleri was pageboy, Ms Leah Meekers and Ms Emma Muscat were flower-girls. A reception was later held at Olive Gardens, Rabat. The couple are spending their honeymoon in France and Canada.

Obituary

CALLEJA. On July 16, at Villa Messina, Rabat, HELEN, aged 80, widow of Joseph, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Charles and his wife Rita, and Louis and his wife Mary, her grandchildren Joseph, Anthony, Maria, Beatrix, Elaine and Antonella, in-laws, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves Villa Messina tomorrow at 8 a.m. for St Sebastian parish church, Qormi, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated.

DEGUARA. On July 16, suddenly at home, PIJU, aged 85, of Mgarr, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his children Mary, Rita and her husband Charlie Camilleri, Lina, Victor and his wife Josephine, his beloved four grandchildren Odette, Victor Charles and his wife Dorianne, Maria and Mark, his brother and sister in Australia, his in-laws, many relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves his residence today at 3.15 p.m. for St Mary's parish church Mgarr, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m., followed by interment at Mgarr cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PETRONI. On July 16, at St Luke's Hospital, JOE, aged 78, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Lola née Cini, his daughter Mariosa and her husband Robert Basarab, his son Josef and his wife Michelle Ann, his only grandchild Kyra Petroni, his sister Mary Paris, widow of Michael, his brother Salvinu and his wife Gemma, nephews and nieces, in-laws, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 8.45 a.m. for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Villa Mgr Gonzi, Siggiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.
