Marriages

Mr MARK BUSUTTIL and Ms ALEXIA GRISCTI
The marriage took place on Sunday, May 29, at St Mary's parish church, Attard, between MARK, son of Mr and Mrs Anthony Busuttil, of Tal-Virtù, and ALEXIA, daughter of Mr and Mrs Alfred Griscti, of Sliema. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Fr Gordon Refalo. Mrs Anne Grech and Dr David Griscti were the witnesses. Mr Frank Borg and Mr George Dunbar Cousin carried out the duties of best men, while Mr Michael Griscti, Mr Andrew Busuttil, Mr Jonathan Chetcuti and Mr Reuben Zammit acted as ushers. Miss Michelle Firman was bridesmaid and Miss Louisa Firman, Miss Francesca Griscti and Miss Krista Firman were flower girls. Master Thomas Griscti was pageboy. The Schola Cantorum Jubilate Choir was in attendance. A reception was held at Villa Arrigo, Naxxar. The couple are spending their honeymoon in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Capt. JOHN SAID and Ms PHILIPPA DARMANIN
The marriage took place on Sunday May 22 at the church of the Holy Cross, Capuchins, Floriana, between JOHN, elder son of Dr and Mrs Martin Said, of Siggiewi, and PHILIPPA, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Joe Darmanin, of Sliema. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Fr Claude Portelli, BA, S.Th.L. The ceremony was witnessed by Mrs Carol Urry, sister of the bride, and Mrs Mikela Fenech Pace. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Adam Scicluna. The bride was attended by Ms Judith Grech as maid of honour, Ms Francesca Urry and Ms Michela Urry acted as bridesmaids. Dr Edward Darmanin, Mr Maurice Said, Dr Gert Attard and Mr Kevin Bencini acted as ushers. A reception was later held at Villa Arrigo, San Pawl tat-Tar©a. The couple are honeymooning in the Caribbean and Mexico.

Obituary

CACHIA. On June 4, at her residence in Luqa, Andreana, aged 96, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her nephews and nieces Georgina, Maria and Jane Saydon, with whom she resided, Joseph Saydon and his wife Theresa, great nephews Pierre and Michael, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral cortege leaves her residence today at 3.15 p.m. for Luqa parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m., followed by interment at Luqa cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

GATT, MARIE LOUISE née Bondì, aged 90, widow of Dr G.G. Gatt, passed peacefully away on June 3 at St Luke's Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Austin and his wife Marisa, her dearly loved grandchildren Gegè and Paul, her brothers Mgr Edward Bondì and Joe and his wife Maria, her sisters Sr Elena and Yolanda Pace, her numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
The funeral cortege leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 1.45 p.m. for the Jesuit's Church in Valletta where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.15 p.m., followed by private interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated.
