Obituary

CALLUS. On May 9, at St Luke's Hospital, ANTHONY, of Birkirkara, aged 73, widower of Catherine née Spiteri, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Lino, John, and Ruth and her husband Andrew, his grandchildren Gianluca and Milena, his brothers and sisters, relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 8 a.m. for Balzan parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Balzan cemetery.

D'ANASTASI - CARMELO, aged 83, passed peacefully away, on May 10, at St Luke's Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary, his daughters Julie and husband Joe Spiteri, and Pauline and husband Tony Bugeja, his son Thomas and wife Sylvia, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 2 p.m. for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Margherita cemetery for a private burial. No flowers but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated. May he rest in peace.

HAMMOND - FRANK, passed peacefully way in London on May 1, aged 68. His loss is mourned by his wife Antoinette née Attard-Flores, his children Gabrielle and husband Paul, Mark and wife Tracey, and Peter, his father William and wife Vincenzia, his grandchildren Eden and Jake, and many other friends and family in England and Malta. - R.I.P. His funeral takes place in England, but a Mass for the repose of his soul will be said at Attard parish church tomorrow at 6.30 p.m. Please remember him in your prayers.

SALIBA. On May 10, at St Luke's Hospital, ANNIE, of Birkirkara, aged 74, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Saviour, her children Fr Joe Saliba, O.Carm., parish priest of Fgura, Sunny and his wife Mary, Paul and Jackie, Raymond and his wife Doris, David and his wife Mariella, Antwan and his wife Maryanne, and Nicky and his wife Carol, her grandchildren Aaron, Isaac, Ian-Paul, Roseanne, Stefania, Christian, Justin, Jonathan, Johan, Nicole, Monique, Daniel and Stefan, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for St Helen's Basilica, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Lija cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

The society of christian doctrine, MUSEUM, will be holding a week of spiritual formation starting on Monday at the society's premises in Qormi between 7 and 7.45 p.m.

Sunday Mass

A Mass will be said on Sunday at 8.30 a.m. at Dar tal-Providenza, in Siggiewi to mark the 18th anniversary of the death of the institute's founder Mgr Michael Azzopardi. Mgr Lawrence Gatt, the director, will lead the celebration.

Road Closed

Triq San Pawl, in St Paul's Bay will be closed to traffic between 8 a.m. and noon today.

Traffic will be diverted from Triq San Pawl to Triq il-Katidral to Triq San Gwann Battista, to Triq San Publiju and on to Triq San Pawl.
