BIRCH. On March 26, Commander PETER STANLEY, OBE, RN died peacefully at St Vincent de Paul Hospital, aged 65, husband and best friend of Toots (Marie-Therese née Cachia), loving father of Carl and his wife Jude, his daughter Sasha, his grandchildren Natasha and Alexander, not forgetting Rob, Craig, Rio and Blane, his sisters Ro, Lin and Jane and their respective families, his in-laws Sr Lucienne and Angele Wright, his loving cousins, relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral will leave St Vincent de Paul Hospital today at 9 a.m. for Naxxar parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares, Children's Cancer Support Group, Wonderland Ward, St Luke's Hospital will be appreciated. Toots would like to thank the staff of St Vincent de Paul ward M5/6 for their love and care. A special thanks to friends Sandra and Claudia.

MANGANI. On March 30, at St Luke's Hospital, MARIJA, passed away at the age of 69 comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her husband Joseph, her children Manuel and his wife Jennifer, Vincent, member of M.U.S.E.U.M., Mary Jo widow of Charles Mifsud, her precious grandchildren Elaine and boyfriend Jeffrey, Mark and George, her brother Joe and family residing in Australia, her in-laws, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for St Paul's parish church, Rabat, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment at St Andrea cemetery, Zebbug. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be appreciated. The family would like to thank all staff at Gynaecology Ward for their invaluable care. May the Lord embrace her, as she rightly deserves.

Requiem Mass

A Mass for the repose of the soul of WILLIAM (Billy) BONNICI, formerly of Sliema, who died on January 31, 2005 in Los Angeles, USA will be held tomorrow at 6.30 p.m. at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema. The attendance of relatives and friends will be greatly appreciated.

Life-Guarding Course

The Malta Sport Council and the Institute of Physical Education at the University of Malta will be holding a course in life-guarding.

The course will also cover first aid techniques such as CPR and EAR, treatment for bleeding, fractures, cramp and shock and placing the survivor in recovery position.

The course, costing Lm20, will start on Saturday.

Application forms, which should be submitted together with a medical certificate, may be picked up from the Cottonera sports complex or the national pool complex in Tal-Qroqq. Those interested should call Sinclair Cassar on 2166 0658/9 or send an e-mail to pas@sportmalta.org.mt

Test drive

Potential buyers are allowed to test drive the Opel Corsa or the Opel Astra for a maximum of three days.

United Automobile Limited, the importers, will be holding an Open Week from April 9 when its showroom will be open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. when test drives can be booked. Bookings are subject to vehicle availability.

Bookings can also be made by contacting United at the Motor Fair in Naxxar this weekend or visiting its showroom in Ta' Xbiex.
