Obituary
FLORES. On March 21, at St Luke's Hospital, MARY from Paola residing at Tarxien, aged 89, widow of Joseph, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Sister Benilde, Iris and her husband John, Irene and her husband Eric, Sister Marlene, Victor, Oliver and his wife Carmen, Margaret and her husband Lino, Doris and her husband Saviour, Joyce and her husband Joe, her widowed in-laws, Josette and Mary Rose, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 2 p.m. for All Souls church, Tarxien where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at the family chapel at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.
Requiem Masses
A Mass will be held today at the Jesuit chapel, Dar Manuel Magri at 7.30 p.m. for the repose of SANDRO CARUANA BISAZZA. Next Saturday being the 11th anniversary of his demise.
A Mass will be held today at St Patrick's church, Sliema at 6.30 p.m. for the repose of ELSIE BORG who died in Gozo. Attendance of relatives and friends will be greatly appreciated.

Greek Holy Week
Holy Week activities at the Our Lady of Damascus Greek Catholic church will be as follows: Tomorrow morning there will be Vespers and Divine Liturgy of the Last Supper at 8.30 a.m. followed by Matins of the 12 Gospels at 6 p.m. On Friday morning there will be The Royal Hours at 9 a.m. and the Lamentations of the Holy Sepulchre at 6 p.m. Saturday morning starts with the Liturgy of Saint Basil at 8.30 a.m. Easter Sunday starts off with Matins of the Resurrection and Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom, followed by blessing and distribution of traditional red eggs on Sunday, commencing at 8 a.m.
Focolare competition
The Focolare Movement is organising a competition for students who are being asked for their views on the family and peace.
The competition is being held on the occasion of the holding of the 22nd Mariapolis meeting in Malta between April 15 and 17. Mariapolis is this year dedicated to the family.
Organised by the Focolare Movement, the Mariapolis, which means the city of Mary, brings together people of different ages and from different walks of life to witness what it is like to live together for some days.
The competition, on the theme The Family: Love Builds Peace, is divided into three categories. Primary school children can participate by making drawings of their ideas on the subject, students in Forms 1 and 2 are asked to write an essay of not more than 200 words in Maltese or English and those in Forms 3, 4 and 5 can write an essay of not more than 500 words either in Maltese or English.
Students' entries are to reach the organising committee at 18, Stellaelise, Il-Huttaf Street, San Gwann by April 8. For enquiries phone 2138 5801.
Negotiation Skills
Junior Chamber International - Malta will be holding a negotiation skills course, called Persuade, at Corinthia San Gorg Hotel on April 2 from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
Persuade has been developed by JCI trainer MacDara Hosty for any individual who wants to either become skilled in negotiation or who is interested in gaining a new perspective on what negotiation is all about.
This training event is open to the public and will be of special interest to managers, entrepreneurs, professionals, public relations officers and employees in most customer-oriented roles.

Cardholders' lottery
Two hundred Bank of Valletta cardholders were winners in the BOV Spend And Win lottery.
The cardholders won twice the amount of one particular purchase for which they paid using any BOV Visa Card, MasterCard or Cashlink Card during the promotion period.
Each cardholder who made a purchase with those cards between November 25 and January 14 was automatically eligible to participate in this lottery.

Rabat exhibition
An exhibition of figurines representing the last hours of Christ's life, entitled Jien, Int u Kristu Lejn il-Golgota, and based on St Augustine's meditations, is being held at the Augustinian Hall, High Street, Rabat. Opening hours are today from 9 a.m. to noon and from tomorrow to Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon and 5-11 p.m.
Entrance is free.
Way Of The Cross
The pastoral secretariat of the Archdiocese of Malta, in collaboration with Radio RTK, will today be holding the National Way of The Cross procession led by Mgr Joseph Mercieca, Archbishop of Malta, from Cottonera to Vittoriosa starting at 8 p.m. accompanied by the statue of Christ the Redeemer. All are urged to attend.
Debt Collection
Santucci & Brown International is offering debt collection training courses on April 4 and 6 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The training programme is intended to give participants a clearer perspective of the issues related to debt collection from a finance management and a legal point of view.
