The Sol Suncrest team participating in the Salon Culinaire de Malte, has won an impressive seven medals, three silver and four bronze. The team, led by executive chef Marco Cutajar, together with Gordon Amato, Adrian Micallef, Massimo Camilleri and Anthony Ellul, won three silver medals in the Master Chef's Grand Prix, the traditional Maltese dish and junior fish dish and four bronze in the senior team practical, fish dish, lamb dish and butter sculpture.
Speaking about the team's participation in the Salon Culinaire, Sol Suncrest's chief executive officer, George Schembri said that "the management is extremely proud of the team's achievements in this prestigious competition. These achievements underline the high quality standards of cuisine offered at the Sol Suncrest. The kitchen brigade's success also augurs well for the gourmet Christmas and New Year's menus which were launched recently by the hotel."
Le Salon Culinaire de Malte is a cookery exhibition organised by the Malta Cookery and Food Association, which this year saw over a 100 competitors. The cookery exhibition is divided into two sections. A static display section, which consists of an exhibition of decorated cakes and showpieces, and the practical theatre, where competitors, individually or as a team, cook a dish in front of an audience.
