Senglea Athletic extended their fantastic start in 2019 after easing past Mosta 3-0 at the Hibs Stadium, on Saturday.
After seeing off Qormi 4-0 last weekend, Enzo Potenza’s team brushed aside another contender as they aim to salvage their top-flight status.
Mosta, on their part, remain in 11th but they are just two points within the play-out spot as they are yet to to win in 2019.
Senglea could not have asked for a better start as they forged ahead inside four minutes. Gonzalo Leyton danced his way past two Mosta markers before sending a through ball towards Augusto Caseres who slotted past Andreas Vella for his third goal of the season.
The second 45 minutes almost started just like the first, as Caseres made in ways for himself inside the penalty area but his effort was blocked on the goal line.
Nonetheless, Senglea still managed to double the score when Leighton Grech whipped in an inviting cross on which Romulo connected to score his second straight goal for the club.
Potenza’s clan found the net again to all but wrap up the victory. Diego’s low cross picked Matias Garcia and the latter slotted the ball into the net from point-blank range.
Senglea Athletic's Diego Venancio was named BOV Player of the match.
