In his contribution "Malta Enterprise - the right perspective" (February 18) Josef Bonnici states that the article "Malta Enterprise - excellent targeting?" contributed by "...a number of apparently disaffected MDC executives..." was based "...on the false premise that the new organisation is being established merely because of dissatisfaction with the performance of the MDC".
He then, once again, seeks to establish a link with the leader of the opposition by saying that this was the stand taken by Dr Sant. The leader of the opposition can say whatever he wants and take whatever stand he chooses. That is his prerogative. He is not an MDC executive; nor are all MDC executives his disciples.
It was Prof. Bonnici who had written about the managerial level at Metco, IPSE and the MDC, saying: "In fact, this is the level in which new blood was needed and was actually introduced".
In the article "Excellent targeting?" it is stated quite clearly that: "Our main complaint is that the selection process for the top managerial appointments at the Malta Enterprise was flawed from the very beginning". What was criticised was the way in which Malta Enterprise was being set up.
So much effort was applied to sell the idea that the application process and the filling of vacancies was to be fair, just, professional and, above all, "transparent" that one could not but recall visions of a conjuror declaring "Look! There is nothing in my hands" right before plucking a rabbit from a hat. Yet, the good professor sees this as having "... a touch of sour grapes".
No, Sir! These grapes are not sour. They are rotten; so rotten that, by comparison, double Stilton would seem milder than double cream.
Perhaps Prof. Bonnici believes there are people at MDC who still have faith in the selection process.
If that is the case, then he may as well accept as fact the moon is made out of blue cheese.
