Malta's representative at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, Lynn Chircop, will inaugurate the 14th annual 100-hour-plus music marathon for charity which kicks off at BJ's Nightclub, on Easter Monday at 5 p.m.

Proceeds raised this year will go to WOW - Wishing Others Well - the social arm of Paceville's Millennium Chapel, the sanctuary of prayer and peace in Malta's most popular nightspot.

Among the musicians who have confirmed their participation at this year's event are William Mangion, Joe Carr, Paul Giordimaina, Charles "City" Gatt, Precedence, George Curmi, Sammy Murgo, cardiac surgeon Alex Manchè, and surgeon Stephen Brincat and friends.

There are however some slots left in the roster. Musicians of any style of music from folk to rock are urged to put their names down, by calling at BJ's Nightclub, Ball Street, Paceville, after 10 p.m. (tel. 2137 7642 or 9949 3534).

The music marathon, which has raised over Lm90,000 for charity over the years, will this year be held in memory of bassist Bernard Scerri and entertainer Sonny Monte both of whom contributed to previous editions.
