¤ The 2003 AACTS Black Powder Shooting Championship was won by Michael Garzia for the second time. He achieved a total score of 805 points. A very close runner-up was John Cassar, 799, followed by Mario Cassar, 787. Another important event for AACTS was participation in a Postal Competition against top UK Black Powder shooters. Garzia, Cassar and Frederick Bowman obtained scores of 816, 774 and 772 respectively which compare very close to those registered by their UK counterparts.
¤ The Roma Club (Malta) will hold their annual general meeting tomorrow at the Despott Hall, Floriana at 9.30 a.m. The main item on the agenda is an election of a new committee. Anyone interested in joining the club should attend the meeting or contact club members during Roma matches at The Portside, Triq ix-Xatt, Sliema.
¤ The new Kingfisher Fishing Sport Association season gets underway tomorrow in Sliema when around 25 anglers will cast their lines for the singles Mr Fish League series at 6 a.m. Competition comes to a close at 11 a.m. when the presentation of trophies will be held and the fish released to their natural habitat.
