Pizarro: Pizarro had looked set to stay at Inter for 2006/07 after refusing various offers including the most lucrative one from Roma. However, reports said yesterday he had talks with Roma officials on the transfer. The clubs have already agreed a fee in the region of six million euros.

Pakistani men: Football authorities in Pakistan have dropped restrictions on men watching women play soccer a senior official said yesterday. When the women's championship was launched last year in this Muslim country, the PFF did not allow unaccompanied men to watch. Only men who came with their families were allowed in. The women players wear baggy track suit trousers and long-sleeved shirts and their matches are supervised by a women referee, helped by one male and one female assistant.

Super Cup: Sevilla defender Aitor Ocio will miss the European Super Cup against Barcelona because of a knee injury. Sevilla said that the 29-year-old centre back would be out for around two weeks after straining his right knee. As well as next Friday's Super Cup match in Monaco, Ocio will also miss Sevilla's opening league game of the season at home to Levante.

Larsson: Henrik Larsson, playing for his Swedish side Helsingborg, was involved in controversy yesterday when television caught him delivering what looked like a punch to an opponent's stomach. The incident happened during the first half of a quarter-final cup match against Elfsborg which Helsingborg won on penalties. Television showed Larsson being held by Jon Jonsson then delivering a jab to his opponent's stomach. Jonsson had to leave the game.

Jevric quits: Serbia goalkeeper Dragoslav Jevric announced his international retirement after a spat with coach Javier Clemente. The 32-year-old goalkeeper, who made 43 international appearances, said he was "shocked and disappointed" with being left out of Serbia's starting line-up in their friendly against the Czech Republic on Wednesday. Serbia won the match 3-1 in their first international appearance as an independent nation since the split with Montenegro.
