Shandong lead: Senegal’s Papiss Cisse scored his third goal in three games as Shandong Luneng became the surprise early leaders of the Chinese Super League after Guangzhou Evergrande ended Shanghai SIPG’s perfect start to the season. Shandong joined Guang-zhou on nine points when Cisse’s second-half double ensured Felix Magath’s side beat bottom side Changchun Yatai 2-0.

FA vote: Members of the English FA council are set to vote on a range of governance reforms today despite criticism its proposals do not go far enough. Among the prospective reforms are an increase in the number of women on the FA board and an expansion of the FA council to better reflect the game’s diversity. A majority vote by council members will ensure the proposals are sent for final approval by shareholders at the FA’s annual general meeting in May.

LFP action: PSG could face sanctions after the French League (LFP) said that its disciplinary commission would study damage caused by their fans at Saturday’s League Cup final against Monaco in Lyon. Pictures showed that seats had been ripped up and the LFP blamed the PSG fans. “The LFP firmly condemns the behaviour of a section of the PSG fans,” the LFP said. “As soon as next Thursday, the LFP’s disciplinary commission will look into the case.”

Bilic: West Ham say they have “100 per cent faith” in manager Slaven Bilic. In the wake of a 2-1 loss to Hull, the club’s hierarchy moved to back their manager. A statement from the West Ham board said: “To end speculation once and for all, the West Ham United Board feel it necessary to announce that we have 100 per cent faith in Slaven Bilic’s ability to lead West Ham United.”
