Jail 'Break': Valerenga Oslo midfielder Ardian Gashi will be available for his side's Champions League qualifying tie against Club Bruges after having his jail sentence for speeding cut short. The 24-year-old Gashi will be released this morning - four days earlier than planned - because of good behaviour. He will then travel directly to Belgium and could feature in the second leg tie in which the Norwegians will try and protect a 1-0 advantage secured in the home leg. Gashi was stopped by police last year for driving at 136 kph in an 80 kph zone.
Bonfrere: South Korea coach Jo Bonfrere has resigned from the post and the search for his successor will begin immediately with the World Cup finals less than 12 months away. Dutchman Bonfrere steered South Korea to their sixth consecutive finals in June, but a string of poor performances since had prompted widespread calls for him to step down before next year's tournament in Germany.
Clemente: Former Spain coach Javier Clemente is mulling over an offer to take charge of Ukraine side Dynamo Kiev and expects to make a decision in the next week. "The offer is good and so are the working conditions," Clemente said following his return from an inspection visit to the Ukrainian capital. Dynamo, who have won 13 Soviet and 11 post-Soviet league titles, were knocked out of the Champions League in the second qualifying round by unfancied Swiss side Thun.
Fans Warned: Fans of Ajax and Feyenoord, who meet in the Dutch first division on Sunday, could receive a five-year ban on travelling to matches at each others' stadiums if there is any more trouble between the arch rivals. The two clubs, the KNVB and the Amsterdam and Rotterdam authorities said they had made the decision following a government investigation into violent clashes between the two sets of fans in April. In the 1997 the two clubs agreed to a one-year ban for visiting fans after an Ajax fan was killed during an organised battle between the two groups of supporters.
Denilson: Brazilian midfielder Denilson is joining Bordeaux from Real Betis on a one-year deal for an undisclosed transfer fee. Denilson, 28 today, joined Real Betis after the 1998 World Cup, when Brazil were losing finalists, for a then-world record fee of $35 million. Renowned for his dribbling skills and mesmerising shimmy, the talented left-sided midfielder failed to live up to his billing at the Andalucian club.
Lincoln: Germany coach Juergen Klinsmann has rejected the offer of Brazilian midfielder Lincoln to play for the 2006 World Cup hosts, team manager Oliver Bierhoff said yesterday. Lincoln, the Schalke 04 playmaker, made the offer to play for Germany at the weekend, saying he had given up hope of representing Brazil.
Santrac: Macedonia coach Slobodan Santrac has handed in his resignation, the Macedonian FA said. In a letter to the Macedonian FA, Santrac said his wife's health problems were his main reason for stepping down. Extra security: Extra security will be in place for Friday's European Super Cup match between Liverpool and CSKA Moscow in Monaco following the disappearance of 500 tickets. UEFA has urged fans not to buy tickets on the black market and said anyone in possession of tickets corresponding to those missing would be barred at the entrance.
