The men's and women's national teams, under the guidance of coach Paul Lake, will be looking to bring home the medals from next week's international tournament for Europe's small states which will be played in Cyprus (October 24-29).

Annabelle Diamantino, now back in Malta after two years abroad, is the number one seed in the women's squad. The others in the team are Johanna Rizzo and Sue Aquilina. Roberta Pace Grima and Liz Said are reserves.

The men's team consists of top seed Joseph Desira, the only full-time professional in the Malta selection, Luke Giacchino, back in the game after an absence of four years, Steven Schranz, Bernard Bugeja and Ivan Balzan.

Maltese teams won gold (women) and silver (men) in the 2003 tournament which was played in Malta.
