With reference to the letter entitled St George's Bay Bottle Party (August 3), we would like to note that security officers patrolling the beach at night have been given a strict brief to report activities such as those mentioned in the letter to the police force which ultimately has the executive role to enforce the law.
The beach management of St George's Bay is being undertaken to international standards by the Malta Tourism Authority, utilising funds derived from the payment by the Eden Leisure Group for the concession to operate a lido on part of this beach. Moreover, the MTA has issued a beach code of conduct to ensure that the beach remains a safe, clean and relaxing space for all to enjoy. No vehicles, barbecues, campfires, dogs, amplified music, overnight sleeping and pitching of tents are permitted on the beach and no boats, paddleboats or canoes are allowed within the bay's designated swimming zone.
