A €1.2 million BG 30 Piling Rig equipped with the latest technology and being delivered to Polidano at the end of this month is to be used at the new Delimara power station site to drill more than six hundred piles prior to the construction of the platform that will house the new generation plant.

The rig is being built in Shrobenhausen Germany and is able to drill piles up to 72 metres deep and with diameters up to 2.5 metres.

Upon delivery Bauer personnel will be in Malta to assist in the rig’s first mobilisation. Polidano personnel will be trained by Bauer engineers to achieve the competence required to operate this state of the art machine.
