Further to the letter "Traffic black spot" (October 23) in which Robert Sultana outlined the three accidents that occurred in 10 days in Floriana, I was also involved in a similar accident a year ago at the same "notorious black spot" and at the "same pole". Fortunately, I escaped unhurt; however, my car was extensively damaged.

Due to these damages, as well as a previous claim, Allcare Insurance Agency, an agency of Middle Sea, informed me that my fully insured policy was being withdrawn, prior to renewal, and I was no longer insured.

Being an under-21 driver and having the misfortune of two accidents, which were solely attributable to poor roads, I was simply expelled and had no insurance cover for my car.

To add insult to injury, I was also told that the only way they might have considered me re-insured was to persuade my family to underwrite all their insurances to them.

Until action is taken by the authorities to improve the roads, insurers should take into consideration the reality and current situation of the Maltese roads and the accidents that are occurring.
