A Libyan man was yesterday given an 18-month jail term suspended for two years for theft.

Jamal Muftah Salem Belkheir pleaded guilty to stealing less than Lm1,000 in cash and a mobile phone from Sliema on Tuesday at about 3.30 p.m.

He will be deported.

Police Inspector Frans Micallef prosecuted.
