A Zabbar man was yesterday fined Lm200 for stealing Lm60 from a Bank of Valletta ATM in St Julian's.

Raymond Vassallo, 47, pleaded guilty to stealing from the ATM to the detriment of Helga Mizzi and BOV on May 10 at about 10 p.m.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera heard how Vassallo had paid back the Lm60.

She also noted his clean criminal record and that he had fully cooperated with police and ruled that a fine was appropriate in the circumstances.

Police Inspector Martin Sammut prosecuted.
